The Bear Cave finds that toddlers escape from KinderCare daycares onto busy roads, are left alone locked inside buildings and buses, and are physically, verbally, and sexually abused, with many cases going unreported until bystanders raise alarm or video evidence circulates.

Infant Tested Positive for Cocaine
In May 2024, an 11-month-old was dropped off at an Oak Creek, Wisconsin KinderCare. Hours later, after showing scratch marks and vomiting, he tested positive for cocaine at the emergency room. A drug-sniffing dog found cocaine in a worker's backpack in the infant room. The mother says her son now has developmental delays.

Multiple incidents of toddlers escaping KinderCare facilities onto roads: In April 2021, a 3-year-old was found roaming streets outside a Milford, CT location—staff had no idea the child was missing. In August 2024, another 3-year-old escaped into traffic in Greenville. Both incidents were only discovered when bystanders' videos went viral.
Children Locked Inside Alone
In February 2022, a Florida KinderCare locked a 2-year-old inside alone after a mom arrived 15 minutes late. All staff had left. Police had to pry the door open while the toddler stood on a chair looking out the window at her mother. A former employee commented: "I'm NOT surprised by this!"
Child Left on Hot Bus
In April 2023, a California KinderCare left a 5-year-old locked in an 80-degree-plus bus for two hours. The child's mother stated: "I do not know how I could live with it if he had died."
Recorded Threats Against Toddlers
In April 2023, Texas parents sewed a recording device into their 20-month-old's jacket after becoming suspicious. The audio captured a KinderCare employee threatening children:
"I'm gonna go and I'm going to beat both of y'all."
"Touch it and you die."
"Just get away from me, because I will end up in jail."

In August 2022, police arrested a Florida KinderCare teacher for child abuse after "yelling at the victim and repeatedly punching the child with both an open and closed fist to the back and side of the head."
Staff Misconduct Caught on Video
In March 2022, a Richland, Washington KinderCare teacher went viral after being recorded repeatedly pouring water on a sleeping child. A former employee revealed management would "literally rip up injury reports" and tell staff: "Don't tell the parents this."
Recent Criminal Case
In late March 2025, prosecutors moved for a speedy trial after a KinderCare worker was "accused of attacking toddler with a pizza cutter."

"The ones in Texas have issues too, I am convinced it's the entire KinderCare company."
